What we look at on the vehicle
We use the appointment to understand the vehicle’s current condition, rather than relying on its advertisement. Tell us about warning lights, unusual noises, missing service records or anything the seller has mentioned.
- Under the bonnet: accessible leaks, fluid condition, hoses, belts and signs that further investigation is needed.
- Running gear: visible tyre wear, brakes, steering, suspension and drivetrain condition where access permits.
- Inside and outside: accessible controls, lights, interior condition and visible body concerns.
- History and symptoms: available service records, dashboard warnings and concerns you want us to investigate within the agreed scope.
Made for an on-site inspection
Please arrange the seller’s permission and a safe, level place with enough room to inspect the car. Ask for the keys and service records to be available. Where possible, ask that the engine is left cold before our arrival.
Underbody access at a driveway can be more limited than on a workshop hoist. We explain any checks that could not be completed and recommend workshop or specialist assessment when required.
We attend Reservoir, Preston and selected Melbourne suburbs. Appointments are available seven days, 7:30 am–9:00 pm, subject to availability and suitable inspection conditions.
Before you book
Is this a roadworthy certificate?
No. These packages assess the vehicle for your purchasing decision and do not include a roadworthy certificate. Tell us if you need a separate certification service so the requirements can be discussed.
Can you inspect a car when I cannot be there?
Let us know when enquiring. We can coordinate an agreed visit with the seller’s permission and discuss the findings with you. Choose the level of documentation that suits how you plan to review the vehicle.
Will every fault be found?
An inspection records what can be assessed on the day. Concealed, intermittent or internal problems can require dismantling, longer testing or specialist equipment. A diagnostic scan alone cannot establish that every system is fault-free.
What happens if a concern needs further investigation?
We explain the concern and the next assessment to consider before proceeding with the purchase. Extra diagnosis or repairs are quoted separately and require approval.
Can you inspect a 4WD or European vehicle?
Send the exact model, engine and any modifications before booking. We confirm whether the vehicle and available access suit a mobile inspection, including any specialist checks that may need a workshop.
